Alive Men Strike! ›
The first of Alive Church’s 2012 “Boys Nights Out” hit the Whangarei Bowling Alley with a vengeance last Friday night. The theme was “Bogan Westie” and we had an awesome turn out of willing participants… although with some of them it was hard to tell whether they had actually dressed up for the occasion or not.

On Sunday the 14th of March 2010, Alive Church Whangarei had the privilege of hosting a guest we hadn’t seen for a number of years - JuliaGrace. With a fresh new style and sound from her previous visits, the large crowds gathered were wowed by Julia’s incredible voice, amazing songs, and brilliant humour.
Open Season - Hunting and Fishing Competition 2009 ›
In 2008 we saw the first Alive Church Pig Hunting Competition, following on from the annual Fishing Competition that had already become quite an institution. This year it was decided to combine these events with “Open Season”, a week of hunting, diving, and fishing. Because of the nature of people’s lifestyles and the changeable weather conditions in Northland, as well as to induce new people, having a whole week meant that entrants could have more than one opportunity to ‘give it a go’.
Alives Got Talent 2009 ›
This year at Alive’s Got Talent was a massive step up from previous years events. There were so many registrations that there was a need to do preliminary auditions on the Sunday afternoon before the annual talent show. The judges for these preliminaries said that the hardest part was saying no to so many acts that could have gone through to the finals in the evening. From over 35 registrations, 20 acts were chosen for the Alive’s Got Talent on Sunday 25th October at Alive Church.

Father’s Day at Alive Church Whangarei is always a lot of fun but this year’s event was amazing. The crowd there for the Sunday Morning Fathers Day Service were privileged to hear from the 4 times World Marathon Jet Boat Champion, Mr. Mark Cromie.

CAP Money a hit at Alive ›
Christians Against Poverty have introduced a powerful new financial training tool “CAP Money” to New Zealand which is now accessible through Alive Church. Alive have started their first course with over 40 participants coming out for this three week course.

Alive men can smell a good feed from miles away! This was evidenced by the crowd of men that turned out for our “Big Breky” event recently.
‘6 for 600’ Success ›
“Your weather was absolutely miraculous!” That was the first feedback given to the ‘6 for 600 Team’ on their arrival into Whangarei. Over the previous three days they had cycled from Cape Reinga to Whangarei through a vicious storm and major flooding without a single drop of rain touching them.

The messages at Alive Church have recently taken on a unique theme. Examples and illustrations of cycling are now occurring on a very regular basis along with jokes about lycra and men with shaved legs. It is believed that this new focus is all a part of Ps. Aaron Halvorson’s effort to convince himself that he’s up to speed for his next challenge.

Alive Church have just started their Missions Offering campaign for 2009. One of Alive’s three main missions thrusts is financially supporting the Joshua Foundation that operate in Tanzania.
