Senior Leaders

Aaron and Pauline Halvorson are the Senior Pastors of Alive Church, Whangarei. They have been leading the church since November, 2003. They love God, love people, and live life passionately.

With excitement and enthusiasm overflowing, they are captivated with a vision of what life is like when it’s lived God’s way.  Aaron is passionate about communicating the message of Jesus Christ in the most excellent manner possible.  With a dynamic emphasis on how good God is, you’ll be inspired by his creative and stirring messages making God’s Word applicable to your situation.  Having a life testimony demonstrating that God is both alive and active, Pauline will encourage and challenge you to hold on to all God’s promises for your life.  She is a wonderful host who, with all her heart, wants to see you welcomed and made to feel at home.  Aaron and Pauline are fully committed to seeing the vision of Alive Church expressed and worked out for the benefit of everyone they encounter.

Aaron, Pauline and familyAaron and Pauline have been married for over ten years and have three beautiful children – Ruby, Lucas, and Molly.  They are now motivated by seeing their own children passionate about God and loving church together with Mum, Dad, and the Grandparents.  The Halvorson family love life in Northland and are so excited about the opportunities to improve our world that each day brings.  The whole family is committed, not just to doing church together, but to living big lives, being great friends to the people around them, and living out their faith, hope, and love with integrity and passion.

Aaron and Pauline, respectively, have their training and backgrounds in Christian Education and Educational Psychology.  They have both served in numerous capacities in a number of churches and worked in the fields of education and youth work before being hired as Youth Pastors at Alive Church, Whangarei.  Now in their role as Senior Pastors, they still put this experience and training to use with a vision to see every generation passionately following Jesus Christ.

Pauline has taught Aaron a little from her Auckland heritage with good food and great coffee appearing on the menu.  She says he is very well trained and makes her a great flat white most mornings.  Aaron has been busy training Pauline in all the good things from Northland and she has really taken to scuba-diving and rock fishing.  Aaron says he’s quite impressed with her progress, even baiting her own hooks.  Their favourite things together and as a family include getting away on the beautiful Northland coast and spending time with the great friends from Alive Church.

Alive Church, Whangarei, with Ps. Aaron and Pauline Halvorson, is a whole lot of fun.  It’s creative, and passionate, and has an atmosphere of the Spirit of God to inspire you to all sorts of good things in your life.  Aaron and Pauline’s choices to stay young in spirit and pure in conscience are reflected in a church which is vibrant and genuine from the inside out.  Their heart for others, rather than just themselves, is seen in Alive Church being a house of generosity that is practically involved in changing life for the better in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand, and in other nations around the world.  They have a commitment to live generous, trustworthy, and faithful lives in order to champion the emerging generations.  Because of this you’ll be able to have confidence in the wisdom they have, the way they lead, and the sincerity of the spirit that they live with.

Aaron and Pauline would love nothing more than to see you come along.  They look forward to your life making sense as a part of the Alive Church story.  If you see them, be sure to come and make yourself known.
