Not alone
Being a Christian could be described in many ways. It could be formulated in a system of beliefs. It could be the adherence to a code of conduct.
Being a Christian could be described in many ways. It could be formulated in a system of beliefs. It could be the adherence to a code of conduct. It could be the remembrance and observance of what Christ has done for us… C.S. Lewis is quoted as defining Christian behaviour in this way. “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.” Whatever words Christianity is defined by, I am glad that I haven’t just been left to try and work it out on my own. In Matthew 11 verse 28-30 Jesus says to us, “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Life – you can do it… not because of you, but because of Him. God hasn’t left you lost and alone. I love David’s declaration in Psalms 23 verse 6, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
